I hereby apply for membership/renewal of membership of the Queensland Fencing Association Inc. and agree to be bound by the constitution and rules of the Association. I acknoweldge that an application for membership is subject to the approval or rejection by the management committee. Membership of the association is not confirmed until such approval has been given by the management committee. By making this application for membership I agree to be bound by the Rules, by-laws and policies of the Association and those of the Australian Fencing Federation which apply to the Association's members. I acknowledge the FIE rule which states "Fencers must arm, equip and clothe themselves and fence on their own responsibility and own risk." I hereby accept full responsibility for my own safety. I fence at my own risk. I voluntarily and knowingly recognise, accept and assume this risk and release the State association, the Australian Fencing Federation, Club and any Competition Organisers, Officials and host venue Administration from any and all liability.
By agreeing to these terms, I confirm that I have read and understood the Codes of Conduct which apply to all athletes, coaches, officials and spectators at all Fencing events and activities. Copies of the Codes of Conduct are available on the QFA Website. I acknowedge that any breach of the Code of Conduct may result in termination of membership or expulsion from the Association.
Further,
a. I confirm that I have never been refused a [blue card] or had a [blue card] revoked;
b. I confirm that I have never been charged with or convicted of an offence against a minor;
c. I agree that if I am charged with or convicted of an offence against a minor I will immediately inform the Association of that charge or conviction and will immediately inform the Association of any resolution of that charge or conviction;
d. I agree that if I fail to accurately and promptly inform the association about any such refusal, revocation, charge or conviction or I am subject to any refusal, revocation, charge or conviction my membership may be immediately suspended or terminated.
I hereby GIVE permission for any photographs taken of me at QFA and/or AFF Competitions and Events to be used by QFA for promotional purposes.
QFA has Insurance of $20 Million Public Liability any one claim, $5 Million Professional Indemnity per claim and in the aggregate, and Products Liability $20 Million in the aggregate.
Membership of the Association runs from 1 January to 31 December in any year and does not roll over into the following year. There is no pro-rata of membership fees during the year.
It is the policy of Queensland Fencing Association, Inc that any new competitive or participative person who has engaged in fencing activities in a club for a period of three months or more is required to register for Club Level Membership at a minimum.
I acknowledge that the Management Committee is not required to provide an explanation for rejecting a membership application, nor is the rejection able to be appealed.
Any person, who volunteers in any capacity at a club or for the Association is required to register as a Volunteer Support Member.
Any adult who performs any service, volunteer or paid, must hold a current Blue Card. QFA adheres to the No Card, No Start Policy.
