QFA Squads
All FENCERS MUST PRE-REGISTER AND PAY PRIOR TO ATTENDING ANY SESSIONS. FENCERS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO ANY SESSION THAT THEY HAVE NOT PRE-REGISTERED FOR.
WHERE MINIMUM ATTENDANCE NUMBERS ARE NOT MET THE SQUAD SESSION MAY BE CANCELLED OR COMBINED WITH ANOTHER SQUAD.
Queensland Fencing Association provides development programs for athletes at all stages of their competitive and representative journeys. Weekly squad sessions offer advanced training opportunites for aspiring and elite athletes. The squad program may also incorporate athlete development workshops in areas such as nutrition, injury management, sports psychology, as well as strength and conditioning and general fitness.
The state squads are managed by the acting QFA Development Coach, David McFadyen, and assisted by the following coaches:

QLD Taipans State Representative Squad (by selection)
The State Representative Squad focusses on elite performance and strategy for fencers who are regulalry competing at the national and international levels. Fencers who are not regularly competing at this level should enrol in the Competition Development Squad as this squad is not suitable for development fencers. |

QFAdiles Competition Development Squad
The Competition Development Squad is open to all fencers aiming to increase their training and further develop their skills who may be looking to compete in state competitions and who may have longer term aims to compete at national events.

Venue
All squad sessions are held at the Yeronga Park Sports Centre.
Other Information
Strength and Conditioning sessions may run prior to squad and are available to non-squad members for a small fee.
Squad training sessions do not run when there are conflicting state or national events impacting on the venue, coach and athlete availability.
All fencers are required to provide their own equipment. Development squad may have a small amount of equipment for loan, this will be communicated on a term by term basis.
There are no refunds on unattended sessions.
All squad fencers are required to be members of QFA. Representative squads require Junior or Senior QFA membership. Development squad requires Club or School level membership.
