Qld School Fencer Individual Championships

Event information
The Qld School Fencer State Championships will be held at Yeronga on Saturday 19 June 2021. This event is open to all registered school fencers in Queensland and is an individual event. Competing in this event is compulsory for eligibility for selection for the national schools championships. This event is subject to COVID restrictions as they are known at the time of the event.
The event will be fenced in two categories in accordance with the national schools competition format. The categories are:
Intermediate = Years 7 - 9
Senior = Open to any secondary school fencer (including intermediate)
Fencers may enter in multiple weapons for this event. Intermediate fencers may enter both Intermediate and Senior categories.
Note: events may overlap and will not be held up for fencers who have entered in multiple events.
Event Format
The event format will be run in accordance with the national schools championship event. One round of pool matches to 5 hits in 3 minutes followed by direct elimination bouts of 15 hits in up to 3 sessions of 3 minutes.

Fencers must be fully ready to compete NO later than 30 mins prior to the start of their event.
Fencers who present to the piste late will be disqualified from the event.
QFA reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule or combine any event subject to entry numbers and COVID restrictions at the time of the event.
Equipment Standards
This competition will fenced using full electric equipment including foil bibs. Fencers are responsible for supplying their own equipment.
Mask - 1600N in good condition with two safety strap securing points. Foil requires eletric bib.
Under plastron - 800N
Jacket/breeches - 350N
Conductive Lames - Foil and Sabre
Glove - in good condition with no holes
Sabre glove - FIE standard
Socks - long socks
Weapons - FIE/S200 stamped
Note: Fencers must present on the piste with at least two weapons and two wires. Rusty blades and those without clearly visible FIE stamps will be rejected.
Podium Standards
School blazers or tracksuits are required for the podium with full fencing whites. Fencers who do not present in acceptable attire will not be allowed to take the podium.
Extras
Fencers are required to comply with all indoor sport COVID conditions of this event including there are no other persons (e.g.spectators) other than officials, medical staff and coaches allowed in with active participants during this competition.
Any person who presents to the venue with symptoms of COVID (regardless of whether it's a "head cold") will not be allowed access.
All participants are expected to assist with set up and pack down of the event.
There are no canteen facilities at this event. No food is to be consumed in the hall.
