Development Squad is designed to develop newer fencers who have participated in schools fencing programs or club fencing, and are considering moving towards state level competition. Note that this squad will run in conjunction with the Term 3 Development squad, this Term 3 & 4 sign up option is offered at a discount to allow forward planning for fencers, families and the QFA.
This squad is designed to develop fencers' skill sets to improve their fencing while encouraging them into club fencing and further competitive opportunities.
Training will be run by QFA coaches from 2-4pm on Saturdays in Term 3 & 4. The sessions will include technical fencing skill, match strategy and knowledge as well as improving physical skill and conditioning. As fencers develop in their skills, they may be offered a promotion to the state weapons squads.
Fencers must be members of QFA to take part in Development Squad.
