QFA Annual General Meeting

The QFA Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 25 March at 8:30 pm at Yeronga SHS Sports Hall, Villa St, Yeronga. Those entitled to vote at the AGM are Senior Members, Junior Members over the age of 18 and Honourary Life Members.

Nominations for positions on the QFA Management Committee to be elected at the AGM must be completed on the form below and emailed to [email protected] no later than Sunday 15 March.

The agenda, minutes of the previous AGM and reports to be tabled at the meeting will be emailed to all eligible voting members by Wednesday 18 March.


QFA Club Refereeing Course


QFA will be running a Club Refereeing Course on Sunday 8 February from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Yeronga SHS. The course covers the role of the referee, the fundamentals of officiating in fencing and an introduction to the rules of fencing. Participation in this course is the first element in completing Accreditation as a referee. 

The course is recommended for those wishing to develop their refereeing skills, parents who want to increase their understanding of the rules, and all fencers as it will help with understanding fencing actions and rules.

QFA 2014 Awards Night - Saturday 14 February

All Queensland Fencers and their families are warmly invited to attend the QFA 2014 Awards Night.

The Awards Night recognises the significant achievements of our Fencing Community in 2014, and includes the presentation of the 2014 Queensland Circuit Awards, Volunteer Awards, and QFA Fencer of the Year Award.

The Awards Night will be held on Saturday 14 February from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Moon Room at the Jubilee Hotel, 470 St. Paul's Terrace, Fortitude Valley. The cost is $27 per person including food, with drinks available to purchase at the venue. Please note that all guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

QFA Volunteer and Officials Induction

QFA will be holding an Induction/Information session for Volunteers and Officials on Saturday 24 January at 10:00 am at Yeronga SHS.

This session will cover some of the important expectations and policies affecting QFA Officials and Volunteers, including Member Protection Information, relevant QFA policies and procedures, and risk management at Fencing venues.

This session is open to all members of the fencing community, and is a requirement for all coaches/officials who want to receive payment from QFA this year. If you have a valid Suitability Card (Blue Card), please bring it to this session.
