Queensland School Individual Competition

Sunday 11th March 2018

All Hallows School - Loretto Hall

The Queensland Schools Individual Competition is organized by The Fencing Club in cooperation with the QFA and with volunteer support from some of our school fencing communities. The event focuses on building participation and skill development in school-aged fencers. Fencers participate in two rounds of matches with the second being a poule final to provide the greatest opportunity for fencing, and all competitors receive awards at the end of the event.

Primary School Foil (Prep to Year 6)                 9:00am – 12:30pm

High School Epee (Year 5 to Year 12)               9:30am – 12:00pm

High School Sabre (Year 5 to Year 12)              10:00am – 12:00pm

High School Foil (Year 7 to Year 12)                 12:45pm – 4:00pm

Fencers should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of their event to register and warm up. Each of these events may be split into smaller divisions depending on numbers.

All equipment is provided (although fencers are encouraged to use their own equipment if available) – fencers should wear comfortable sports clothing, preferably with a long sleeve shirt for added protection. A fencing glove is highly recommended, and fencers should wear fencing protective uniforms where possible. All fencers are encouraged to bring a water bottle for use during the competition. Epee fencers must wear fencing jacket and breeches.

The cost for each event is $20. Competitors will need to be either School Fencer Members of QFA or QFA Junior Members

Membership can be completed online via the QFA website here:

All Hallows School will provide a canteen.
